PLEASE DO NOT REUSE W/O MY PERMISSION. Thanks! (I do not own "Star Trek" or "Utena.") ------------------------------------ On the subject matter: You may wonder, "Is there something specific going on?" Well, that's up to YOUR interpretations! ^_^ You can either pretend they're good friends, not-so-good friends... Either they're discussing work or something completely random... If you like slash, you can set up your own little mini-drama situation... (Is there a couple? Or is it all just UST?) ------------------------------------ As for the technical stuff: I wanted to draw another ST fanart - and was inspired by my favorite anime, "Revolutionary Girl Utena." The lineart was done with Illustrator, using a mouse. The coloring and background was done with Photoshop.
The lineart alone took 10 hours 'cuz I was lazy and progressing at my own pace. Also, I had creative problems during the initial drawing phase since I had no idea what to draw exactly. The coloring took 6.5 hours, again, 'cuz I was lazy. I also was stuck in a rut again because I didn't know how to exactly color their hair. ------------------------------------ FINAL COMMENTS: I'm pleased with my drawing of Jim. He looks like a stereotypical jock (well-built, tan, blond hair...and a cocky expression.) I know that Bones is NOT a slender man (that's Spock's job.) But before I realized my mistake, I figured, "Eh, he looks good like that. I'll just keep going with it." In contrast, I'm not pleased with my drawing of Spock. His posture is within character, yes. And I hope I got his nonchalant/inquisitive stare right... But I dunno. Maybe I should've drawn his body more slender?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
